Authorized Bank Accounts:

It is important to clarify the fact that only authorized departments may use the City of Newton’s federal I.D. # 04-6001404.    If you are aware of any accounts at your location using the City I.D. number, they must be closed immediately and transferred to the responsible party.   School PTO’s are not authorized to use the City’s I.D. number.   In the past few years, numbers of PTO’s have set up new accounts with their own numbers.   All remaining PTO accounts using the City I.D. number must be closed.  

Unauthorized bank accounts must be closed by November 19, 2004.   Please send written confirmation to my attention on the status of these accounts.
